What we actually do
There are more than thirty companies in this market that will put a sprinkler system in the ground. Very few of them come back to service it. That gap is the reason we do this work at all, and it is why most of the systems we see are only a few components away from running the way they were designed to.
Broken, sunken and misaimed heads. Zones that will not activate. Leaking or stuck zone valves and dead solenoids. Controllers that lose a program or will not hold a schedule. Wet spots, soft ground and a meter that keeps turning with everything switched off.
A system can be technically working and still waste a great deal of water. Heads that throw onto the driveway, zones grouped so that shade and full sun run the same minutes, and pressure that is too high for the nozzle all cost money every cycle. Adjusting those is cheap compared to what they add to a bill over a season.
If the property also has a backflow assembly on the irrigation line, we can test and certify it during the same visit.
No. We repair and optimize systems that are already in the ground. The Upstate has plenty of companies installing them and very few servicing them properly, which is why repair is where we put our time.
Usually. A running meter with nothing visible above ground is normally a cracked lateral, a failed fitting or a valve that is not closing all the way. We trace it back to the line or the component causing it and repair that.
It can be either, and it is worth knowing which before parts get bought. A dead solenoid, a broken wire and a controller output that has failed all look identical from the timer.
In most of the Upstate, yes. An irrigation line is one of the classic cross connection risks, which is why purveyors put assemblies on them and test them annually. We can do both in the same visit.
